Early Out/Rest Day

I don’t typically go to the gym on Fridays. Our boys go to school four days a week so Friday is usually my “catch up because you have been running non-stop all week” day. It’s usually the day I put away all the laundry I’ve washed and dried all week, but never found time to put it in its place. It’s the day I was dishes and clean the kitchen and wonder how other moms do it all. Tinley woke up in an awful mood this morning (which is very rare) and she came home in an equally awful mood. She took a bath and took a nap as soon as she got home. Brooks played nicely most of the day by himself or with Beckham. Beckham spent the morning talking about wanting to “show Jayley” this or “show Jayley” that. He really seems to look up to her quite a bit recently. Jayley was busy planning their Minecraft birthday party in a couple weeks most of the day. Pinning all sorts of cakes and creative party ideas on her “Minecraft Party Board” on Pinterest. Can I just remind you she’s 7? Yes. She’s 7. I always joke and tell people she’s 7 going on 47. I swear most days she’s more mature than i am. I believe she thinks she’s a 7 year old mom of 3 because I remind her at least twenty times a day, “Jayley, I’m going to be their mom. You just be 7.” She LOVES to help. 99% of the time it doesn’t matter what I’m doing she will walk right up beside me and say, “Is there anything I can help you with?” She’s the definition of a yellow color personality. Tinley enjoys helping too, but she only seems to want to help in the kitchen. The boys, they fight over who gets to do what for me. Living with these two boys, 17 months apart, most days feels like I’m The Bachelorette and we are down to the final rose for the evening! They fight over who will get to get me stuff, who will hold the door for me, who will bring me my water… it’s never ending. Not going to lie, I sit like a queen and take in every moment of it! I know this too shall pass and I’m holding onto it for dear life! The kids went to bed well tonight and me and Jody are going to finally sit down and relax and have a conversation without interruptions! It’s the little things.
